Elderly Texas man killed in 2-vehicle crash

A 72-year-old man was killed in two-vehicle collision that occurred on July 26 at 1:55 p.m. in Galveston. Authorities pronounced him dead at the scene.

According to reports, the victim was driving a minivan west when a male driver of an SUV was headed east. When the driver of the SUV allegedly attempted to make a U-turn, his vehicle collided with the driver’s side of the minivan.

The spouse of the deceased was reportedly a passenger in the minivan. She suffered serious injuries in the accident, and emergency medical personnel transported her to the hospital in serious condition. The driver of the SUV was also injured and taken to the hospital, where he was in stable condition at the time of the report.

Witnesses said at least a dozen people stopped to try to help following the accident. At the time of the report, police were still investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the car accident. However, they had not immediately filed any charges.

Like the widow of the man who was killed in this case, many people suffer serious injuries as a result of car accidents. These injuries can lead to disabilities and life-long problems. Individuals can experience a great deal of pain and suffering in the immediate aftermath of an accident or even for years afterward.

Someone who has been injured by another driver’s negligence may wish to consider taking steps to protect their legal rights. A lawyer might be able to pursue a claim on behalf of an accident victim in order to recover compensation for the victim’s losses. This compensation can include medical bills, rehabilitation, lost income and pain and suffering.
